The OneClub China Youth Creative Festival draws hundreds of students from all over China to take part in the annual competition. During the weeklong event, teams must create a unique advertising campaign for the company they are assigned on the first day. Each team is assigned a professional mentor - experts in their field - to help and advise them along the way.
Only a few teams are asked to present their ideas the last day of the competition. Only one team will take home the Golden Pencil.
In previous years, teams from Michigan State University have impressed as the only non-Chinese participants to compete in the competition. In 2014, one of the two teams successfully brought home the Silver Pencil. Again, in 2015, a team was awarded the Bronze Pencil.
This year will be different. This year, the group of students from Michigan State University will be split in half to create two MSU-only teams. In the past, they have competed together with students from China.
